The Pianist , Composer, Arranger and Singer Yanela Brooks was born in Guantanamo (Cuba) in 1981 within a family of great musicians. She started her piano career at the age of 7 years old at the Samuel Manuel’s Music Conservatory for 7 years, after which she joined the Art School in Cuba at the age of 15 years old. She specialised in Chorale Direction for another 4 years.

Simultaneously to her studies at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), this anxious artist formed her own orchestra called “Yanela y las chicas del sabor” under the tutelage of Maestro Horacio González, Director of the emblematic Cabaret Orchestra “Tropicana”, with which she also study the career of Orchestration. At the end of these previous studies, she joined the Professional School, Félix Varela, where she graduated with the speciality of singing with the Master Edilio Hernández. With her band “Yanela y las chicas del sabor” she gathered the whole country performing in numerous prestigious events, also sharing stage with the most representative orchestras of the island as “Van Van”, “La Charanga Habanera”, “NG la Banda”, Manolito Simonet y Pablo Milanés and more. With the above mentioned formation, she devoted herself in all her artistic facets, qualities that opened to her the doors of international artistic field, such as Italy, Spain, Mexico, France, Martinique, Guadalupe, Isla San Martin and other countries.

In 2000, Yanela Brooks decided to continue her career alone and recorded her first LP entitled “Tu eres libre” with the French Record Company, Pastel Productions, with which reached the top spot on the charts in the French islands. In this project record, Yanela Brooks fused Caribbean genres as the Souk, the Salsa and the Jazz; she performed as Producer, Music Arranger, Pianist and Singer with the special collaboration of Maestro Jose Luis Cortés (El Tosco).

As result of this big success, the doors were opened for her in the Spanish capital where she acts on the most representative stages of Latin music in Spain as “La Comercial Cubana” and “Sabor Havana” for 3 years.??Subsequently, she was the protagonist of a Musical along with Rafael Basurto Bolero, leader of Los Panchos with whom she performed on the best stages in Spain, that reaffirmed her as a reference for artists of her generation. She was also in the Spanish feature film “Tango” alongside actors as Antonio Resines, Ana Fernández and Jorge Perrugorria among others. Yanela Brooks started her movie premieres as Actress but also as Music Composer of the soundtrack to one of the most emotive topics of length film entitled “Tú no eres nada.”

From her beginnings, Yanela Brooks inclined towards the genre of Jazz, her composition musical arrangements and interpretations was demonstrating it, when with only 20 years old, she made her debut as a Jazz Musician in the Theatre Habanero “Cervantes” and was accompanied by illustrious veterans Jazz Musicians such as Frank Emilio and others of her generation like Jasek Manzano, Irving Frontela, Tony Pérez, Oscarito Valdez and many more….??This fascination with the genre led her to the city of Marbella in 2005 to express a definitive and constant devotion to the Blues, Soul, Rock and Smooth Jazz. It is here now where she continues as an artist devoted to events of great magnitude and relevancy such as Mercedes Benz, Concordia, Davies’s Cup, International Lions, among others.

As well as presenting her art in front of European royalty and other international figures such as Producer Quincy Jones, Amaya Zwaroski, Chris Tucker, Isabel Presley, Beatrice de Orleans … …??With the help of Jesus Quintero, she published her first Television Promotional DVD which recompiled her best performances in Spanish TV. In addition, she participated in many Musicals as a Singer Cabin in the “Magic of Broadway”, “Aladdin”, “Blood Brothers”, and “Peter Pan”.

This second promotional DVD recorded at the Hotel Puente Romano in Marbella is the official tribute from the Andalusia City to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson where Yanela Brooks delights us with Classical Soul, Disco, Rock and Latin Music.

Recently has composer the Spanish lyrics of Marbella town, original idea from the Italian ambassador Darío Poli.??Currently, you can see, she is demonstrating her art on different stages in Spain and worldwide.

Yanela Brooks has been baptized from her fans in the Costa del Sol, as the Diva of Disco and Soul and has been acclaimed for her great energy on stage.
